The familiar modern Flower of Life is commonly drawn as nineteen equal overlapping circles, often enclosed by one or two larger circles. Its centres sit on a triangular lattice, producing sixfold symmetry and repeating petal-shaped lenses.

Because every circle keeps the same radius, the pattern grows through disciplined repetition. Hexagons, equilateral triangles and the Seed of Life can be read within it.

Interlocking rosettes appear in art and architecture across cultures. The title “Flower of Life” and its familiar nineteen-circle arrangement are chiefly modern conventions woven around an older human love of compass-born pattern.
